Leah's check-up today went well. Still gaining weight back - up to 6 lbs. 3 oz. now! Her two week check up is coming up on Wednesday - hopefully we are still making progress then too!

I like taking pictures with my new camera. I'm definitely an amature and not all that great at it, but here are a few photos from the last week.

Everyone comments that she has long fingers and toes...

How lazy! She likes to sit/sleep/lay with her legs all curled up still!

Just hanging out with mom outside while daddy did some yardwork.

Daddy has been such a huge help these past two weeks. We are sad that he has to go back to work on Monday! :o(

hello

Since this is a blog about me, let me introduce myself. My name is Leah. I was born on July 22 at 5:41 A.M. I weighed 6 lbs. 7 0z. and was 19.5 inches long. I want to tell you how things have been going since I came home on Friday, July 24.

The first few days and nights were tough. I was fussy a lot because I was super hungry all the time! Mommy just knew I wasn't getting enough to eat, but couldn't do anything about it since it was the weekend. First thing Monday morning, mommy and daddy took me in to get some help with feeding. They weighed me, and I had lost a lot - I only weighed 5 lbs. 12 oz. Mommy felt so bad. But, the nice nurses at the hospital gave mommy and daddy lots of good advice and encouragement. We all went back to meet with the nice nurses again on Wednesday. Good news! I had gained some weight, was up to 6 lbs. 1 oz! That made mommy and daddy so happy. They could tell I was getting enough food because I was behaving a lot better at home. I have slept in my crib the past two nights and let mommy and daddy sleep for almost 4 hours at a time! I sure do love to eat and sleep. Daddy gets to feed me too - he learned how to finger feed me so we know more acurately how much food I am getting. We'll see how much I weigh at tomorrow's appointment too!

Other than eating and sleeping, and of course pooping, I don't really do much else. I like being held and talked to. None of my clothes fit becuase I am so small. I am going to try to keep eating well so I can fit into all of the pretty things mommy has for me. That's all for now!

Love, Leah

first time

Today was a day of many firsts...first doctor's appointment, first time in her bouncy seat, first walk in the stroller, and first trip to the grocery store! Tomorrow will be a first trip to the park and a first trip out to dinner. What a lucky little girl.

Wide-eyed and curious...

sleepless nights...

Nursing is very time consuming, not to mention somewhat painful! Our first night home was rough... The second night was a lot more peaceful.

she's here....

...and she's perfect. Her first day in this world has been great - we couldn't be more lucky!
