A fun weekend and more!

Day 109. Kid's Night at the park. It was SO much fun! Leah played games, won prizes, swung on the swings (her fave), and Jalen just hung out like a good boy!

Waiting our turn in line, watching the other kids play.

Favorite prize = candy!

SWING!

Day 107. Giving brother a push.

Day 106. Swimming and Children's Museum with cousins in Brookings!

Sharing craisins with Grant.

Tired babies.

Happy Baby!

Leah had to have a snack break - all that swimming made her hungry!

Jalen and Emma, just hangin'.

These glasses were an almost permanent fixture on his face the majority of the weekend.

Roaring with the dinos!

Exploring my creative side

So lately I've been really into exploring my creative side. Whether it's baking, sewing, or doing some sort of crafty project, I've really been trying my hand at "homemade."

Here, I made a fun treat for the 4th of July. Cupcakes in a jar, all homemade! Made-from-scratch lemon cupcakes (dyed with food coloring). In between each layer of cupcake is lemon filling and homemade frosting. I chose lemon because that is my brother Jacob's favorite, and it's his birthday on the 4th of July.

Lindy asked me to make some treats for his work for someone who was celebrating their last day in his office. First I made cupcake bites. I got the idea from this website.

I also tried my hand at a Strawberry Shortcake, or my version of one, I should say. Here, I made french vanilla cake (yep, from a box....).

Here are my strawberries, "marinating", if you will, in some sugar.

Here's my cake with the strawberry/frosting layer in the middle, and the strawberry layer on the top.

And the finished product! My frosting didn't turn out just as I would have liked - it was a bit runny, but on the other hand I only had about 3/4 bag of powdered sugar. Oh well, it sure tasted good! It was very moist and light. I'll definitely make it again!

And here is my sewing station, aka the kitchen table. I've perfected my hooded towels, and have moved on to baby leg warmers and homemade burp cloths.

My next big project is decorations for Leah's birthday party. Hopefully I'll have some fun pictures to post then too!
Day 103. My shirt says "Little Brother" but I might just pass up my sister and be bigger than her before you know it!

Day 102. Lovin' the nice weather. Eating outside is the best!

Day 101. Happy 4th of July! We started the day by heading to the parade downtown. After that we walked to Falls Park and had a yummy lunch and ice cream treats!

Jalen's first time in his bouncy seat.

Leah had to give it a try too...

Heading to Grandma's for the 4th of July celebration.

Happy 20th birthday Uncle Jacob!

She has a MEGA sweet tooth. Of course she picked the biggest cookie on the plate!

Day 100. No picture.

Day 99. We were able to spend some time outdoors again. J-Man seems to like it in the shade, just laying in the grass.

Leah played in her pool. She likes the water a lot!
