Traditions
I've always loved traditions, especially around the holidays. My family has many of them. With the addition of Leah to our little family, I thought it would be nice to come up with some of our own. (Of course I've borrowed these ideas from others, but I wouldn't be using them if I didn't think they weren't special!)
One tradition that crossed my path involved Christmas books. Each year at Christmas time, Leah will get a new Christmas book. We will pack it away with all of our Christmas stuff when the holiday is over, so she only has limited access to that book during the Christmas season. In each book I will put a little "name plate" and note to her. We will get them back out the next year and enjoy them for the season. My hope is that when she is ready to leave home she will have 18 books to take with her as a rememberance of this special time of year!
Another idea that Aunt Carrie told me about was to keep a journal of special times and memories, funny things Leah does or says - just little entries of the times I don't want to forget. This will be another keepsake she gets to take with her when she leaves home. I love the idea and plan to make every effort to make sure I do it!

day 140
This picture was taken right before she went to sleep. Look at those tired eyes! She still loves to be swaddled when she goes to bed - no more cuddling and rocking though! Which I shouldn't complain about - it's great that she can go to sleep on her own, but that just means that she is already growing up so fast!
day 138
The only Christmas decoration we've gotten up so far is our tree...and it's not very fancy at all! Lindy thinks it's a sad, "Charlie Brown" tree....it is pretty dinky, but we have a tiny house! Needless to say, it is filled with Hallmark and Barbie ornaments. Leah loves them already! Below is my attempt at being a photographer...
