Back in the habit....

Well it's been WAY too long since I last blogged...not even sure if anyone is a follower anymore, but hey, I do this more for us and our family than for you! If you are a lucky reader, then it's just a bonus for ya!

Time for me to get back in the habit of blogging and taking a picture of the new little peanut each day. I did it for Leah, and it's only fair that I do it again. Nine days or less is all we have to wait. WOW. I can't believe the time has come. I still don't think it has hit me that we are soon going to have another one...

Everything is ready on the baby-front. Room is ready. Bags are packed. Frozen meals are prepared. I hope Leah is ready. I think she will be a good big sister. She LOVES her baby dolls and takes them with her almost everywhere we go.

Speaking of Leah....she is still the best thing that has ever happened to our little family. She is such a little sponge and absorbs so many new things each day. She talks a ton and you can literally have a conversation with her and she totally knows what you are talking about. She loves singing and dancing. Her new favorites are the Toy Story movies and Monsters, Inc. She still loves to read and loves doing puzzles. She likes to color is getting better about eating and trying new foods. We've gotten her to each chicken nuggets and pizza and waffles. And yes, baby food veggies are still at least eaten once a day. Oh well, at least she's eating veggies!!

That's all for now...next entry will probably be baby news!

End of a great year!

So it's been quite some time since we've last posted...not a whole lot of new changes to report, hence the reason for not bloggin. I did manage to come up with a few things to talk about...
  1. New house: is awesome. We couldn't love it any more. We are excited to spend many years here together creating wonderful memories with our growing family!
  2. New baby: is growing (as far as we know) healthy and strong! We are in week 27 and headed to the last trimester. Here's to continued health and no bedrest in the future (crossing my fingers this time will go smoother than last)!
  3. Miss Leah: is absorbing information like a sponge and is so fun! She has such a little personality - loves to explore and pretend play (with her new kitchen play set where she grocery shops and cooks, and likes to feed her baby), says SO MANY words (she will try to repeat almost anything you tell her - my favorite phrase of hers right now is "Daaaady, where are you?"), loves our dog JoJo (much to my dislike), hasn't "warmed-up" to playing outside in the snow just yet, still loves to read books, loves the TV show on Nick Jr. called Dino Dan (she lets us know she wants to watch it by roaring like a dinosaur at us!), feeds herself almost perfectly with practically no mess (although is still the pickiest eater alive - she still eats baby food veggies with rice cereal mixed in as her main meals - yuck), tries to count to 10, knows almost all of her animal noises (frog is pretty tricky), and loves to be around other kids (at Grandma's or at play dates). It is so fun watching her grow up and we couldn't love each and every moment with her any more!
  4. 2011: will bring a few changes for our family. First of all, Lindy will start a new job (manager of the Avera Children's Clinic) mid-January. Then in late March (hopefully) or early April, baby #2 will join our family. Here's to the end of a great year - it was a good one, and I'm sure the next will bring many great times and good memories as well!

Enjoy a few pictures from our Christmas celebrations.

Baby #2

Today marks the start of week 21 in our pregnancy with baby number 2. We had our big ultrasound yesterday - baby looks great and is growing healthy and right on track! We decided that we are not going to find out the sex until baby decides to join the world - so end of March/early April can not come soon enough! Well...time could slow down as far as Miss Leah is concerned - she is growing like a weed and learing more and more every day! But I would love for time to speed up to meet the new little one who will soon join our family.

Here are some updates with Leah:
  • At her 15 month appointment, she only weighed 20.5 lbs...10th percentile for her age.
  • Her weight probably comes from the fact that she is a picky picky eater! (One trait from her father that I hope the next one doesn't have!)
  • Still eats baby food and throws and absolute fit if you try to feed her something "real".
  • Will, however, try any dessert or sweet treat imaginable and loves them all. (That she gets from me!)
  • Says lots and lots of words - mom and many versions of mom, dad and many versions of dad, hello, bye-bye, more, "JoJo out!", banana, spoon, eat, bottle, puppy (complete with animal sounds), and a very cute and funny way to say applesauce - I can't even describe how she tries to say it! - she'll try to repeat most anything we tell her to!
  • Loves music and dancing to it
  • Loves Mickey Mouse Club House
  • Still wakes up most nights and needs her paci at naptime and bedtime
  • Still takes two naps
  • Loves going to Grandma's every day and throws a fit when it's time to leave

Family Photos

Despite a child who would not cooperate, we still managed to get a few good ones! Thanks Katie and Emily for taking the time to do this for us! :-)

Happy Fall!

Where has the time gone?? We've done a lot lately - DDays, a visit to the pumpkin patch, playing outside a lot on the warm fall days, Ella's 1st birthday party, and Halloween - enjoy the pictures!

What's new?

The biggest news on our block is that we have one! A new block, that is! The big move has happened, and I am happy to say that we have settled in comfortably. We LOVE our new old home. Here are a few pics of the new place.

Leah's new favoriate game to play is "Who's gonna catch me climbing up the stairs?"
Oh, and I think most of you that (still?) read this are aware of this piece of information...I just wanted to post this picture - it's how we informed most of our friends and family of the news of baby #2! We've heard the heartbeat of our new little one a few times and all is good so far! Prayers that things stay good and healthy and all goes well!
