almost done...

....with one year, that is. Just 3 days until my little baby turns 1! I have been HORRIBLE at taking pictures this past week - I think I only took 2 or so. I'll post them later, but right now I wanted to update on a few things while I was thinking of them.

Leah's newest words: she can say "nanna", which at first I thought meant "banana", but then she started saying it whenever she wanted something to eat. So "nanna" loosely translates to "I'm hungry!" But she does say it when she sees a banana too.

If she's in a good mood and is really happy to see you, you might get a big smile and a "Hiiieeeee!" when you walk into the room!

"GoGo" still means "JoJo." Why she loves that dog, I have no idea.

Give her a comb or brush, and she will haphazardly comb (more like scrape) her head with it, trying to comb her hair. Her curls are unruly no matter what!

We had a long week last week. Still not feeling 100% after her cold/strep. Very clingy and whiney. I couldn't do anything without a little leach attached to my leg. We spent one morning at Grandma's with all the other kids - she was in heaven!! This week she goes to Grandma's 3 days in a row while I have some work/errand things to get done. She will definitely be a happy baby.

Not walking yet, but walks with help and around furniture no problem. Drinks from a cup much better now, and still doesn't care for bottles all too much but can now hold them and drink from them on her own. In fact, she prefers that. Sure, just around the time we would start to ween off of the bottle, she gets the hang of it!

If we don't close the door to her room, the first place she will crawl is straight in there to find her paci. She knows where we put them and can pull herself up to get one. Guess we need to find a new spot to store them.

She claps and says "yay!" whenever she sees or hears clapping on TV. Watching The Price is Right does it every time.

Our baby is going to be a dancer, for a few reasons. She jiggles and bounces and dances whenever she hears music. And, she constantly walks and stands on her tippy toes. Sorry daddy, not gonna be the athlete you'd prefer...

Still loves books - both being read to and reading them herself.

She is pretty cooperative when tagging along with mommy around town. It's very hard for us to sit in the house all day long. We usually find an errand or two to take each day, or go for a walk or bike ride. I'm glad she is pretty easy going and flexible so we aren't tied to the house too much.

Miss Diva Queen threw a fit the other day when we were on a walk around the neighborhood. We passed a swingset in someone's yard and she was SO MAD that she couldn't get out to play on it. People in a 10 block radius could probably hear her screaming and wondered what I had done to her. So we turned around to go back home. She settled down (wouldn't you know, the swingset was in view...) Yep, we passed it again and the screaming was in full force. Didn't stop until we got home. How does she even know that a swingset is something fun to play on? Wow, she amazes me. Hard to believe that about 1 year ago she was so tiny and content in my big (alright HUGE) belly....
