Wow, where has the last month gone??

I went back to work on May 4. There were 11 days of school left, and oddly enough, it was nice to get into a routine, even if for only a few short weeks! And I enjoyed the adult interaction, rather than baby talk all day long! So that was one event that got in the way of picture taking and blogging.

We celebrated Mother's Day - a nice quiet morning shopping and then dinner with my family. We celebrated our 4th anniversary on May 26 with a nice Minerva's lunch and a movie (Hangover 2). Then we did a bit more celebrating over the weekend with a getaway to the Sheraton Hotel where we took Leah swimming and had a quiet dinner and breakfast the next morning while Leah stayed with Nanny. Lindy and Tony, our brother-in-law, put up a new fence in the backyard over Memorial Day weekend. The first week in June has been absolutely beautiful - went to the pool, the spray park, McKennan Park, and the Storyland Children's theater. Jalen tagged along to each and either hung out in his stroller or rode with mom in his baby carrier. He was a very good boy and each outing.

Leah L-O-V-E-S swimming, swinging and sliding at the park, going for walks, helping mom and dad with whatever she can, giving her baby brother kisses and stealing his paci, and being bossy and sassy! She says every word imaginable, is learning the words to and singing her favorite songs, and the newest food we've come to like is popsicles! So far the summer has been great and is already going way too fast! This weekend we are making a trip to the Omaha Zoo sans daddy; next weekend we will make a trip to Mitchell to hang out with our friends, and celebrate Lindy's birthday and Father's Day (same day this year!). The only other summer plan we have is a "stay-cation." Lindy plans to take some time off work so we can do some things around town that we don't have time for otherwise.

I'll try not to wait over a month to post next time, but if I do it's because we are just having too much fun this summer! Plus, a busy toddler and a newborn are enough to keep anyone busy!
